The Relationships of Chinese College Students' Personal Future Planning and Attitude Towards Future With Depression

The Chinese version of Future Orientation Questionnaire and Beck's Depression-Ⅱwere administered to 723 college students to explore personal future planning and attitude towards future,and their relationships with depression in the context of contemporary China.The results are as follows: College students planned their future positively and were optimistic about it.Advanced college students reported more exploration and commitment to future education and occupation,and more optimism about future education than low-grade college students.Males reported more commitment to future marriage/family,and also more optimism about it than females.The positive development of personal future planning and attitude towards future could significantly predict low-level depression.
