A STUDY OF THE COMPONENTS, DEVELOPMENT AND ROLE OF THE SELF-REGULATED LEARNING ABILITY OF STUDENTS AGED 10 TO 16

The putpose of this study was to explore the components, development and role of self-regulated learning ability. All of the 266 subjects aged 10 to 16 were examined by means of Student Questionaire. Results showed:1) It was reasonable that self-regulated learning ability consisted of components, namely, planning, preparation, awateness, strategy, execution, refindon, complementing and summarizing; 2) Almost all the components of self-regulated learning ability developed more quickly during the period of 13 to 16 years of age than that of 10 to 13 years of age, and developmental discrepancy between components were obvious; 3) Role of self-regulated learning ability in students' learning became significant with the inctease of age.
