Effect of Organic Mg and Organic Se on the Anti-oxidation Capability of Broilers' Tissues

A 2×2 factorial experiment was conducted to study the effect of organic Mg and organic Se on the performance and antioxidation system of broilers.Five hundred and sixty male broilers were randomly allotted to four treatments,with five replicate pens per treatment and twentyfive chicks per pen. The four treatments were control,organic Se,organic Mg and combination of organic Se and Mg.The supplementation level of organic Se was 025mg/kg,and that of organic Mg was 02%.The results showed that with the administration of organic selenium,growing rate(P001) and feed conversion efficiency (P005) were significantly improved in the first 3 weeks.The catalase (CAT) of heart and liver(P005)as well as the content of glutathione (GSH)in the liver(P001)for the birds fed organic magnesium were increased significantly,which might be the cause of significant decrease of MDA in muscle and liver(P001).The total antioxidant capability (TAOC)of liver (P001)and glutathione peroxidase(GSHPx)of plasma(P005)were increased significantly by the use of organic selenium.There was a significant interaction(P001)between organic magnesium and organic selenium to increase TAOC and decrease the content of malondialdehyde(MDA) of liver.
