IMMUNODEPRESSIVE EFFECTS OF THE RECOMBINANT PRODUCT OF MAREK’S DISEASE VIRUS 38 KD PHOSPHORYLATED PROTEIN ON CHICKS

In chicks of SPF origin injected with Marek’s disease virus (MDV) 38 kd phosphorylated protein (pp38) expressing recombinant baculovirus infected insect Sf9 cell lysates or the recombinant pp38 purified from the infected Sf9 cell lysates through affinity column,the humoral immunne response was depressed,and the average antibody titers of heamoglutination to mouse red blood cells in recombinant pp38 treated chicks were 1 38~1 68 Log2 (p0 025) and 2 55~3 25 Log2 (p0 005) lower than that in control chicks in 5~7 days after immunization with mouse red blood cells This is the first report of studies on the biological activities of MDV pp38
