To overcome the d ifficulties in electronic data exchanges in civil engineering industry due to complicated relationships and frequent communications among enterprise partners, a partner information exchange protocol ( PIEP ) model was established. E fforts were made to combine the advantages of aceXML and RosettaNet protocols and to meet the requirements of civil engineering industry. PIEP uses Internet for efficient and accurate information exchanges among partner enterprises and realizes.
