On the Normal Height Solution of GPS Network in Mountainous Terrain

Xiong Yongliang Lu Baixiang (Dept.of Surv.Eng., Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu 610031, China)  
Practical formulas for height anomaly caused by the undulation of terrain are deduced.These formulas are especially suitable in rough mountain areas and can effectively avoid the abnormal integral in the central region.Based on these formulas,mathematical models are proposed for solving the normal height in GPS network concerning terrain undulation.Two algorithms for solving normal height in GPS network are discussed.A practical example shows that the proposed algorithms are practical and effective.
