Effects of Gynostemma Pentaphyllum on the Contents of SOD、GSH-PX、MDA、LDH and ATPase in Brain、Heart and Kidney of Severely Burned Rrats

To observe the effects of gynostemma pentaphyllum (GP) on thecontents of SOD、GSH - PX、 LDA, ATPase and MDA in brain, heart and kidney of severelyburned rats. Methods Divide the rats randomly into three groups:① normal group.②non - treatedburned group (inflicted with 40% TBSA, full thickness burn injury). ③ treated burned group(intraabdominal injection of GP immediately after burn, and then repeated q8h). Tissues of brain,heart and kidney were gathered and homogenized respectively at 4、 8、、 24、 48h after burn, thenthe contents of SOD, GSH - PX, LDH ATPase and MDA were assayed. Result Comparing withnormal group, in brin, heart and kidney tissues of burned group the contents of an, GSH - PX,and ATPase were significantly decreased (P 0. 01 ) but LDH and MDA variously enhanced(p0. 01 ). After the treatment of GP, the an, GSH - PX and ATPase contents were significantlyhigher but the LDH and MDA lower than that of the burned group (P 0. 01 ). ConclusionDecrease of SOD GSH - PX.and ATPase may reflect the damage of distent organ caused by severeburn, and GP can enhance the activity of SOD, GSH - PXm and ATPase but reduce lipid peroxidein brain, heart, kidney of severely burned rats.
