RELATION BETWEEN THE LEAVES OF MAIN CROP AND THE PANICLE CHARACTERS OF THE RATOONING RICE

Xu Fuxian Hong Shong(Rice and Sorghum Research Institute, Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences , Luzhou 646100)  
The relation between the leaves of the main crop and the panicle characters of the ratooning rice were studied with rice variety Shangyou 63 as material. The results were as follows:the percentages of sprouting and alive bud of the ratooning rice depended on the nutrition status of basic stems. Applying bud enhancing fertilizer could not increase the percentage of alive bud of the 4th and 5th nodes;the grain yield of ratooning rice decreased significantly when the 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th leaves from top were removed at full heading stage of the main crop rice. Highly significant positive correlations were observed between the yield components of ratooning rice and the dry weight of the basic stems.
