Study on the Effects of Simulated Acid Rain and Hg~(2+) on the Physiological Indices of Pistacia chinensis Bunge

The changes in chlorophyll(Chl)content,superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity and malondialdehyde(MDA)content of Pistacia chinensis Bunge were monitored under simulated acid rain and Hg2+ stresses.Under simulated acid rain stress,Chl content decreased by 43.04% at pH2.5,SOD activity decreased by 34.17% at pH3.5 and membrane permeability and MDA content of the leaves increased significantly,as compared with the control.Under Hg2+ stress conditions,Chl content decreased with increasing Hg2+ concentration.With a Hg2+ concentration greater than 0.10 mg/kg,MDA content of the leaves showed an increase first and declined thereafter,and with a Hg2+ concentration greater than 0.05 mg/kg,SOD activity reached its maximum on the 10th day of the treatment.
