On the Effect of Compulsory Education’s Development on Preschool Education in Poor Areas

Wang Xiaofen (College of Education science, Nantong University, Nantong 226007)  
The reformation of compulsory education has made much negative effects on preschool education in poor areas, such as the decline of the number of kindergartens and nurseries and the ratios of preschoolers, and the shortage of money for preschool education and the preschool teachers’ position. These are due to the excessive dependence on primary schools and the excessive neglect from the administration and the separation of educational system. So we suggest that we should adopt more approaches to develop the preschool education, strengthen the power of administration, make the preschool education into compulsory education system and invest specialized money in poor areas.
