Hot metal rescheduling method and its application between the iron-making and steel-making stages

The hot metal logistic process between the iron-making and steel-making stages is described.Hot metal rescheduling problem(HMRP) can be abstracted as a complex hybrid flow shop(HFS) scheduling problem aiming at the production environment with multi-stage,multi-machine and uncertainty of process path.By introducing the job status parameter of pots of hot metal,a mixed-integer nonlinear programming model for HMRP is established.A two-stage method is proposed to solve HMRP.Firstly,a method to solve special type of hot metal rescheduling problem(STHMRP) is presented,which include assigning machine and eliminating machine conflicts.Secondly,on the basis of results of STHMRP,a heuristic algorithm based on the rule of first come first serve(FCFS) is suggested to solve normal type of hot metal rescheduling problem(NTHMRP).The hot metal scheduling system with the rescheduling method has been successfully applied to a large iron steel company,and realizes rapidly hot metal rescheduling.Application results show that the method can obviously shorten the redundant waiting time for hot metal and raise the operating rate of pots of hot metal.
