Research on Impact of Postponement Strategies on Inventory Cost in Mass Customization

Decision about postponement of product differentiation point is an important research subject in mass customization. The paper presents models of inventory cost for centralized and decentralized mass customization processes with service time constraint. The impacts of standardization or modularity strategy and process reengineering strategy on inventory cost are compared.
