Preparation and Characterization of Eu/MCM-41 Mesoporous Composite Material

Nanosized mesoporous molecular sieve MCM-41 was synthesized with tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as the source of silica and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as the template. The photoluminescent functional supramolecule (Eu(DBM)_3phen/MCM-41) between the nanosized MCM-41 and Eu(DBM)_3phen was prepared in chloroform, and characterized by XRD, HRTEM, IR and fluorescent spectroscopy. The result shows that a intensive band at 613 nm, which does to the emission of the Eu i.e., ()~5D_0→~7F_2 transition lines, is observed under 361 nm ultraviolet exciation, and a broad band at 400~550 nm is explained as the emission of the mesoporous matrix.
