Analysis of optimal inspection and maintenance policy for continuous deteriorating system

To investigate the optimal maintenance policy of deteriorating system which is described by the Levy process, the model of condition-based maintenance is presented. By this model, the inspection interval time and the threshold of preventive maintenance can be optimized simultaneously. The relation between the two decision variables and the aim function is established through the theory of renewal process. And the solution of this optimization which can make the long-run average cost rate lowest is got using the Nelder-Mead method. Eventually, the Gamma process which is a typical one of Levy process is given to be a numerical example. It can be used to verify the model and realized the implement of the optimization.
