WVR air combat situation assessment model based on weapon engagement zone and kill probability

A within-visual-range(WVR)situation assessment model is presented based on the analysis of situation factors affecting two weapon operational effectiveness indicators.The correlation of weapon engagement zone and kill probability of an infrared homing air-to-air missile and situational factors such as deviation angle and speed are analyzed.Based on the impact of situational factors on weapon engagement zone and kill probability,a new WVR situation assessment model is presented with situation superiority functions reconstructed.Simulation results show that the model is in line with modern air combat reality,which can provide the basis for combat maneuvering decision-making,and the situation assessment authenticity is improved to a certain extent.
