Electroless Plating and Magnetic Properties Studies of Tb-Fe-Ni-B Alloy

Tb-Fe-Ni-B thin films were prepared with ethanol solvent through electroless plating at room temperature. The structure and properties of the alloys were measured by means of SEM,XRD and VSM. The results show that,comparing with amorphous Fe-Ni-B alloy,the coating is transformed into crystalloid FeNi_3,Fe_3B,Fe_(4.5)Ni_(8.5)B_6,Ni_4B_3,NiB_3,Tb_3Ni_3B_2,Fe_2Tb and TbNi_2after heating treatment for 60 min in argon atmosphere. The Tb-Fe-Ni-B alloy coating on the surface of copper is smoother and more homogeneous than Fe-Ni-B. The microcrystalline Tb-Fe-Ni-B alloy presents much higher saturated magnetic intensity and magnetic permeability and much lower remainder magnetic intensity and coercive force. Therefore,this kind of alloy coating exhibits favorable soft magnetization.
