Effect of Dissolved and Colloidal Substances Released from Aspen APMP on the Pulp Properties

The influences of dissolved and colloidal substances in aspen alkaline peroxide mechanical pulp (APMP) on the optical,physical,retention and drainage properties of the pulp were investigated. The results indicated that,with the increasing of dissolved and colloidal substances (DCS) concentration,the properties of the pulp such as brightness,opacity,scattering coefficient and physical strength decreased. On the other hand,the presence of DCS in the system increased weakened the efficiency of cationic poly acrylamide (CPAM),and led to the decrease of retention and drainage.
