Study on CBN used for inner ring raceway thin-walled of ball bearing grinding wheel

A method of grinding the inner ring raceway of the thin-walled ball bearing with CBN grinding wheel replacing Al2O3 grinding wheel is introduced,and the desired properties of CBN grinding wheel was determined.The method and the velocity rate of CBN wheel's dressing were deeply studied and a set of equipment dresser for it was designed.Its application showed that,both the grinding precision and surface quality of the inner raceway of the thin-walled ball bearing have been improved obviously,the roundness is promoted from 3μm to 2μm steadily,the roughness Ra is reduced from 0.4μm to 0.2μm,the variation of dimension is little,and no phenomenon of grinding burn is found.Extending the life span of the grinding wheel more than 50 times,while the productivity has been increased by 40 times.
