Congestion Avoidance Scheme in Wireless Sensor Network

Aiming to the congestion problem in wireless sensor network(WSN),a congestion avoidance scheme API_DR is presented,combining intermediate node and source side.On one hand,we design an adaptive active queue management using PI control on intermediate node,which can achieve PI parameters′ on-line self-adaptive.On the other hand,we adopt a strategy of rate adjustment based on loss differentiation on source side,comprehensively considering the congestion situation of current network and the influences of packet lost by link corruption to regulate the sender′s packet sending rate,in order to avoid the waste energy and reduce of throughput brought by mistake start-up of congestion control scheme.The result of simulation shows that API_DR can converge to queue size-setting value rapidly,get higher network throughput and lesser packets loss rate,meanwhile,congestion can be avoided effectively and sender′s packet sending rate could keep stable by this way.
