Toxic effects of Serrin B and Nodosin on HL60,SGC7901,LOVO,U87 and AGZY cells

Objective To study the toxic effects of Serrin B and Nodosin on human promyelocytic leukemia cell line HL60,human gastric adenocarcinoma cell line SGC7901,human colon carcinoma cell line LOVO,human glioma cell line U87 and human lung adenocarcinoma cell line AGZY in vitro.Methods The HL60,SGC7901,LOVO,U87 and AGZY cell lines in logarithmic phase were seeded in 96-well plates.When the cells adhere to the plates,different concentrations of Serrin B or Nodosin were added to the wells.The final concentrations were 0.00,1.25,2.50,5.00,10.00,20.00 μmol·L-1 respectively.24 hours later,four methyl thiazolyl tetrazobium methods were used to determine the death rates of the cells.Results There were obvious toxic effects for Serrin B on HL60,SGC7901,LOVO,U87 and AGZY cell lines in vitro(P0.01).The dose-effect relationship was obvious.There were significant toxic effects for Nodosin on HL60,SGC7901,LOVO,U87 cell lines(P0.05,P0.01).There was no toxic effect for Nodosin on AGZY cell lines.Conclusion Serrin B and Nodosin are the active anticancer components of Robdosia serra(Maxim) Hara,which offers more clues for the development of new anticancer drugs.
