BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF L929 CELL LINE

WANG Cheng-Long LI Wei-Min WANG Qi-Ru (Experimental Hemophysiology Laboratory, Hunan Medical University Changsha 410078)  
The biological characteristics of L929 cell line were investigated. It was found that L929 cell line was a male cell line which was easy to culture and formed clear colonies. Colonies could be divided into two types: dense type and spersed type. It showed positive correlation be-tween the number of colony formation and 1%-10% serum concentrations. The doubling time of L929 cell was 25.49 hrs. It is in accordance with the biological characteristics of fibroblasts. This investigation provided us a good modei for the study of cells.
