Analysis of monitoring results in 123 cases of perinatal birth defects

Objective To analyze 123 cases of birth defects during 2007—2012 to provide the basis for clinical prevention and treatment,and effectively reducing the occurrence rate of birth defects.Methods Perinatal infants and birth defects delivered during 2007—2012 were performed monitoring and statistic analysis.Rsults The top 4 birth defects were limb deformity,cleft lip and palate,hypospadia and fetal edema.Their incidence rates were 30.9%,19.5%,13.0% and 12.2%.The incidence rate in rural areas was significantly higher than that in cities and towns.Conclusion Strengthening the pre-marital check,popularizing prenatal and postnatal care knowledge,especially in the remote mountain village population,conducting early pregnancy care are the key to prevent birth defects.Strengthening the detection of high-risk pregnancy and prenatal screening and adopting early intervention are the important means to reduce the rate of birth defects in perinatal infants.
