Utilization of DSA measuring technique in interventional treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular disease

Objective:To evaluate the usefullness of the DSA measuring technique in interventional treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.Methods:One hundred cases with ischemic cerebrovascular disease were studied with digital subtraction angiography in Xuanwu hospital.Diameters of both the diseased vessels and normal vessels in the same patient were measured using the DSA measuring technique.Results:Using a small metal ball with the diameter of 10 mm as callibrating object,the target vessels was then measured.To accurately measure the diameter of the vessels,the metal ball should be put in or near the same plane as the diseased or target vessels.To accurately measure the diameter of the vessels,it is also feasible to use the catheters or wires with marker as calibrating objects.Conclusion:The DSA measuring technique is extremely important for ischemic cerebrovascular disease in study and treatment. It is essential to choose the right size and type of stents,protection devices and angioplasty balloons according to the result of DSA measurement.
