Pharmaceutical effects of total glucosides of peony and its application in autoimmune disease

It was found that total glucosides of paeony (TGP) had inhibitive effects on autoimmune response via variant pathway. It also had effects of inflammation suppressing, analgesia, and hepatic protecting. It had precisely therapeutic effect on autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). This presenting review has summarized the studies of TGP on cellular, humoral immunity, anti inflammation, and clinical studies on auto immune diseases.
