Inhibitory effects of Reduning injection on influenza virus FM_1 in vitro

AIM:To study inhibitory effects of traditional Chinese medicine Reduning injection on influenza virus FM_1 in vitro.METHODS:With ribavirin as positive control,cytopathogenic effect (CPE) and optical density (D) of MDCK cell infected by influenza virus FM_1 were observed with the interference of Reduning based on cell culture technique and MTT,then viral inhibitory percentage of all groups was evaluated. The median toxic concentration (TC_(50)),median effective concentration (EC_(50)) and therapeutic index (TI) were calculated.The inhibitory effects of Reduning on influenza virus FM_1 were compared with various concentrations and drug deliveries in all groups.RESULTS:The TC_(50) of Reduning was 10.11 g·L~(-1).Under drug delivery of precaution,direct deactivation,and therapy,the EC_(50) was 0.625,0.725,0.629 g·L~(-1) and TI was 16.17,13.94,16.07,respectively by CPE.Correspondingly,the EC_(50) was 1.135,0.770,0.661 g·L~(-1) and TI was 8.91,13.12,and 15.29,respectively by MTT.With MTT,there were no evident difference about the inhibitory effects of Reduning on influenza virus in three drug deliveries,and with CPE there were no difference when the concentrations of Reduning exceed 0.812 51 g·L~(-1).CONCLUSION:Reduning injection has inhibitory effects on influenza virus FM_1 of direct deactivation and interfering proliferation,and can block FM_1 infecting target cells in vitro with a quantity-effect relation.
