Clinical Value of Echocardiographic in Epicardial Adipose Thickness Measurement in Diagnosing Coronary Artery Disease

Objective To study the value of echocardiographic adipose thickness measurement in diagnosing coronary artery disease.Methods We assigned 60 patients with coronary artery disease(with 31 cases of mild type, 19 cases of moderate type, 10 cases of severe type) from July 2011 to March 2013, and 60 healthy people with normal heart function(the control group) in the corresponding period in our hospital to have echocardiographic adipose thickness measured. Results Epicardial adipose thickness of those patients with coronary disease was significantly higher than that of the control group(P 0.05). And along with the severity of coronary artery disease, the epicardial adipose thickness significantly increased(P 0.05). Correlation analysis showed that the severity of epicardial fat thickness and coronary heart disease was positively correlatied(r = 0.763, P 0.05). Conclusions Echocardiographic epicardial adipose thickness measurement contributes to diagnose the coronary heart disease and guide the treatment.
