Research on Value Disclosure and Protection and Restoration of Unearthed Bronze Statues in Yejiashan Cenetary

The Bronze Zun was unearthed in the second mesa of M126 in the high ranking Western Zhou dynasty cemetery of Zeng State in Yejiashan, Suizhou County in 2013.The surface of the bronze was covered by blue-green and red corrosion. The emblazonry and the inscriptions cannot be discerned. The corrosion, elements, covered information of the Bronze Zun were detected and analyzed by XRD, Raman spectra, XRF and X-ray imaging. The results show that the bronze is ternary alloy of copper, tin and lead, and the type of corrosion is Corrosion Ⅰ. The corrosion products are mainly azurite and malachite, and the corrosion of "pitting corrosion" is atacamite and paratacamite. The X-ray image of the bronze shows some important emblazonry and the inscriptions. Research, preservation and restoration of the Bronze Zun are in need to achieve the goal of promoting and preserving the value of cultural relics.
