Evaluation on Data Quality and Geometric Correction of China-Brazil Resources Satellite No.1 Data in Nanjing Area

In this paper, the major technical parameter and characteristic index of China-Brazil Resources Satellite No.1 are given. And the data received by high resolving power CCD camera are selected. The data include three wave bands of Nanjing area which are the second, third, fourth wave band. In data processing of the second wave band, there are several apparent stripes and the reasons that cause the stripes have been checked out. Then it contrasts the three wave band stack image not removed of stripes and the three wave band stack image removed of stripes. Through that, we found that the image quality is improved apparently. Geometric correction is applied to these two stacks image. And the quality of the latter is better than that of the former. The image processed by geometric correction is analysed and the image information shows that its ground resolution reaches 20 meters. We can conclude that the data of China\|Brazil Resources Satellite could be applied to extraction of special information, such as land use, forest cover, geology and agriculture, etc.
