Study on Fusion Algorithms of TM and SPOT Images

With the development of remote sensing technology, there appear more skills for acquiring remote sensing database. In the same region, remote\|sensing data obtained from different sensors are able to provide multiple time and multiple resolution images to have formed image pyramid. One of effective methods discussed in text is the data fusion used for processing different sources of image data. This method is tested in the present Landsat and SPOT dataset. To make best use of TM′s spectrum and SPOT's resolution, four data fusion algorithms are compared in the present study, including weighing fusion, K L transform, K T transform, and feature based fusion. In terms of information content and class accurateness, the feature based fusion is selected as the optimum one.
