Research Progress of the Lithium Material Source and Metallogenic Fluid in Lithium-Rich Salt Lakes

Lithium is an important raw material for new technology,civil and military industry. The brine lithium resources comprise 80% in the whole world,and lithium-rich salt lakes are mainly distributed in plate subduction zones,collision zones and plate transformation zones. The sources of lithium in lithiumrich salt lakes are mainly dominated by deep and shallow water-rock interactions,early salt-bearing formation and magmatism,secondarily are the weathering of the rock around the lakes and atmospheric input. The lithium-rich salt lakes fluids can come from atmospheric precipitation,surface water,groundwater,recycling brine,magmatic water,etc.,of which the surface water and groundwater with the largest contribution,following by recycling of brine and magmatic water. Magmatism plays a crucial role in lithium-rich salt lakes forming,which not only brings the ore-forming elements and fluids,but also provides the heat source for the water-rock reaction. However,further studies about how the mantle source fluid being added into the lithium-rich salt lakes were needed.
