Quantitative evaluation on activities of daily living of patients with lumbar disc herniation

Objective To evaluate activities of daily living (ADL) of patients with lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods Forty-five patients with LDHand eighteen healthy controls articipated the study. Intelligent de-vice for energy expenditure and activity (IDEEA, MiniSun,)was used to record and analyze two groups′daily workand life, while both patients and controls performed a series of daily activities in their nature environment.Results LDHpatients had significant deterioration in forward angular velocity(FAV),and there no significant deteriora-tion in extension Angular Velocity(EAV)between the two groups. 6 min walking testshowed thatSdbm(ms),Spbm(m/s) and cabm also significant deterioration between the two groups. The distance of 6 min walking had signifi-cant deterioration between the two groups.Conclusion ADL in LDH patients was significantly reduced.IDEEApossess the particular superiority and the worth of clinic application to quantitative evaluation on activities of dailyliving of lumbar disc herniation.
