The relationship between tyrosine content in silk fibroin and the dyeing behaviors of reactive dyes

WANG dong-sheng(College of Fashion and Art, Jiaxing Institute, Jiaxing 314001, China)
The silk fabric was treated with high temperature, insolation and protease, the dyeability, fixation rate and total fixation efficiency of reactive dyes were measured before and after treatment. It showed that the dyeing behaviors of reactive dyes were descended after treated with the mentioned three methods. According to the FTIR (ATR) and amino acid analysis, the tyrosine content in silk fibroin was decreased after treatment. The relationship between amino acid content and dyeing behaviors of reactive dyes was discussed.
