Study on the Fluoro-Quenching Method for the Determination of Trace Copper with 4, 5-Dibromophenyl Fluorone in the Presence of CTMAB

A new method for fluoro-quenching determination of trace Cu(II) with DBPF and CTMAB has been described. The optimum condition is studied. Rectilinear range is 0,1-5,0ug/25ml at pH6.4-8.0. The molar ratio of Cu to DBPF is 1 : 2. The excitation and emission wavelengths are 362 nm and 560 nm, respectively. The method proposed has been successfully applied to the direct determination of trace Cu in pure cobalt and pure nickel.
