Application of a Slotted Quartz Tube Atom-Trapping Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry──Determination of Bi and Sb in Pure Tin

The effects of various conditions on the sensitivity of Bi, Sb were inastigated The results show that the best sensitivity was obtained when different flame conditions were used for collection and release respectively The characteriStic concentratlons obtained after trapping for l min are:Bi 35 × l0~-3 ,Sb 1.8×10~-3μg/ml.The slotted quartz tube atom-trapping FAAS yields increases of 254 and 239 fold in sensitivity of Bi and Sb respectively, in comparison with the conwntional FAAs The coefficients of variation are:Bi 2.9%,Sb 4.7%.The Bi and Sb in pure tin have been determined.
