Experimental research on damping performance of constraint damping structures in urban expressway

The urban expressway model was set up,and road restraint damping structures were designed.Through the single beam excitation test of free beam,the influence of the thickness of damping layer on such damping factors as composite loss factor and total vibration grade of the road restraint damping structure were discussed,and then the thickness of damping layer was optimized. The experimental results show that: When the thickness of the damping layer increases to 1,1. 5,2,and 3 mm,the vibration acceleration of the structure decreases by 30%,65%,70% and 65%,and the second order composite loss factor of structure increases by 2. 2%,6. 5%,57. 1%,11% each. With the increase of the thickness,the damping effect of the road restraint damping structure improves first and then debases,and the optimum was achieved in the 2 mm,while the total vibration value hitting the minimum 135. 95 dB,and the second order composite loss factor the maximum 0. 143.
