Finite Element Analysis of the Contact Stress Between Wheel and Rail of Hearth Mechanism in Walking Beam Heating Furnace

A 3D finite element contact model between wheel and rail of hearth mechanism is constructed in ABAQUS.The wheel/rail 3D elastic-plastic contact problem is analyzed by using the plastoelastic theory,using of mesh-encryption and the method of ABAQUS/Explicit.Results,such as the wheel/rail contact force,applicating status and wheel/rail stress distribution,are obtained,and provide theoretical evidence for optimization of hearth mechanism in walking beam furnace.
