Comparison Study of Different Electric Field Expression of Vertical Alligned Liquid Crystal Cell

Based on the continuum theory and dynamics theory of liquid crystal, the dynamic response pro-perties of vertical alignment liquid crystal cell and chiral-homeotropic liquid crystal cell have been studied under uniform field and non-uniform field approach in this paper. The calculated results show that the respond speed of (liquid) crystal cell is disagreement under the two different methods. Compu-(ter) simulation using the uniform field method is simple and quick, but the result isn't exact, so it only can be used to do qualitative analysis. The non-uniform field approches the actual electric field distribution in liquid crystal cell. So the results of (using non)-uniform field method approach the testing results of the actual liquid crystal cell.
