Determination of Trace Germanium in Geological Samples by Hydride Generation Atomic Fluorescence Sepctrometry

A method for the determination of trace germanium in geological samples by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry was described. The influence of HNO_(3), H_(2)SO_(4), HClO_(4), H_(3)PO_(4) on dissolving of germanium in sample digestion process was studied. AgNO_(3) gas filter device was used for elimination of interference from gas phase. The detection limit of the method is 0.06 μg/g for germanium. The method has been applied to the determination of trace germanium in national geological standard samples of GBW 07401～GBW 07408. The (results) are in agreement with certified values with precision of 2.7%～4.3% RSD (n=12).
