Application of Internal Standard to Rapid Co-precipitation Technique for Preconcentration and FAAS Determination of Cadmium in Salts

A method was proposed for the determination of trace cadmium in salts by flame atomic absorption spectrometry after rapid co-precipitation with PAN-Ni(Ⅱ) at pH=9.0. Mn(Ⅱ) was added as an internal standard. When the sample volume was 100 mL, the standard addition recoveries of cadmium were 96%~101%. The detection limit was 5.7 μg/L with precision of less than 5% RSD (n=6). The matrix effect can be eliminated by the method. The results were satisfactory.
