A Study on Rapid Colorimetric Determination of Water Soluble Total Sugar,Reducing Sugar and Starch in Tobacco with 3,5-dinitrosalicylic Acid

The absorption spectrum of 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid reducing product with reducing sugar has been studied.The result shows a maximum absorption at 500 nm,but the best work wavelength was determined by 540 nm.The best time of color reaction and best suitable amount of the color reagent was given.The extraction methods of water soluble total sugar was optimized,and a rapid continuous batch determination of reducing sugar,water soluble total sugar and starch was established.When some tobacco samples were determined.The relative errors of the results obtained by this method related to those obtained by the Bertrand's method were under of 5%.
