Study on determination of flavonoid in houttuynia cordata thunb by solid phase extraction and RP-HPLC

A high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) method for the determination of flavonoid in myrica rubra leaf and bark was studied.The flavonoid was extracted from the sample with 80% of ethanol by heating circumfluence.Then the extract was degreased by solid phase extraction with Sep-Pak-C_(18) cartridge.The flavonoid was separated on a Nova-Pak-C_(18) chromatogram column(3.9×150?mm,5?μm),with methanol and 0.05?mol/L potassium dihydrogen phosphate buffer solution as mobile phase at 60∶40(V/V),and monitored with the photodiode array detector at 360?nm.The recoveries of the flavonoid are 98%—101%,and relative standard deviations are 0.85%—2.2%.
