Effects of Mineral Nutrients and Plant Growth Regulators on Germination of Pollen of Macadamia

The effects of temperature, sucrose concentration, mineral nutrients and plant growth regulators on germination of pollen and growth of pollen tubes were studied using 6-year old macadamia trees as experimental material. It was showed that the optimal temperature and sucrose concentration were 25℃ and 10%, respectively; as compared with IAA and 2,4-D, GA3 at 20 mg·L-1 stimulated the germination of pollen significantly; and Zn at 10 mg·L-1, Mo at 5 mg·L-1, B at 10 mg·L-1, Mn at 40 mg·L-1 and Ca at 30 mg·L-1 were most favorable for the germination of pollen.
