Reference&Comparison Method for Improving the Accuracy of Visibility Measurement

Abstract Anew method for improving the accuracy of visibility measurement isproposed.In this paper, Koschmieder law which is the theoretical basis of measuring visi-bility,is discussed and analysed.The new method is raised according to going further intothe deficiency of present measuring method. The application in practice of this method is alsoapproached. Analysis and calculation show that the Reference Comparison Method can improve the accuracy of visibility in full scale,especially,this method meets the demands of ac-curacv of low visibility in the field of aviation,navigation and high-way.
