Geological characteristics of Dahegou-Zhangergou antimony field and evaluation on prospecting potential, Henan

Dahegou-Zhangergou antimony orefield is located in the east of Sb-Hg metallogenic belt in northern part of East Qinling Mountain which is one of important antimony metallogenic belts. Up to now, one medium-sized, three small-sized antimony deposits, nine antimony deposit points, and so many other deposits have been found there. The authors consider that mineralization is obviously controlled by strata and tectonic, and that the deposit points occurred in Qinling Group, Yanlinggou formation, lower Proterozoic, and that the distribution of ore bodies are strictly controlled by Zhuyangguan-Xiaguan deep fracture and secondary tectonic, on the basis of previous survey and research results collected and analysis of geological setting, deposit geological characteristics, stratic ore-bearing, characteristics of sulphur isotope, characteristics of ore body inclusions, and metallogenic environment. So ore genesis is attributed to epithermal stratabound ore deposit, which is also called polygenetic-multistage stratabound ore deposit.All these discoveries indicate good prospects for mineral exploration.
