Study on the Adsorption Characteristics of Heavy Metal Ions Chromium(Ⅲ) and Lead on Steel Slag Adsorbent

With oscillating adsorption experiment, the effects of factors, such as the rotating speed of oscillating apparatus, the adsorption time, the slag dosage, the pH and the concentration of heavy metal ions in the solution, on the adsorption of Cr3+,Pb2+ by steel slag were investigated. The results showed that the steel slag could effectively adsorb Cr3+,Pb2+,with removal of Cr3+ being over 99% and Pb2+ over 94% ; the suitable dosage of steel slag could be obtained by controlling the mass ratio of steel slag to heavy metal, for adsorption of Cr3+ the ratio being 300:1 and Pb2+ 200:1. Moreover, the steel slag could adapt to the change of the pH and that of the concentration of heavy metal ions of the solution with high and stable removal efficiency.
