Three Dimensions Elasto-plastic Finite Element Analysis for the Surrounding Rock Stability of Large-scale Underground Openings

In this paper, the elasto-plastic incremental finite element method with variable plastic stiffness is used to analyse the surrounding rock stability of underground openings. This method synthesized the advantages of the methods of constant stiffness and of variable stiffness. It can not only accelerate the computation but also provide better converging results of iteration. A method for analysing the three dimensions geostress field in the surrounding rock by the three dimensions nonlinear finite element method is also presented.
