Discovery of Middle Silurian adakite granite and its tectonic significance in Liuyuan area,Beishan Moutains,NW China

The gneiss granitiod in Liuyuan area of the Beishan Mountains belongs to the calc-alkaline serious,characterized by having relative high SiO_2(56%),A1_2O_3(15%) and relative low MgO(3%) contents,Na_2OK_2O;enriched in Sr(400×10~(-6)) and high Sr/Y ratios;relatively strong REE segregation((La/Yb) _N =18~86) and depleted HREE(Yb and Y),only weak negative Eu negative(δEu =0.90~0.95);enriched in LREE and LILE,depleted in HREE and HFSE(Nb、Ta),is similar to the typical adakites formed by melting of the oceanic slab subduction.However,the isotopic compositions of the adakite rocks are more radiogenic than most typical depleted adakites,with relatively high ~(87)Sr/~(86) Sr_1(0.70635~0.70636),lowε_(N在)(t)(-0.8~-0.9)and the lowε_(Hf)(t)(-0.8~+2.7).These isotopic differences from typical adakites are attribute to participation of the crustal and/or sedimentary components in the magma source and/or the inheritance of a more radiogenic oceanic slab(OIB/E-MORB) of the source, and contaminated by crustal component in the intruded process.This adakite have the crystallization age 424±4 Ma by zircon LA-ICPMS U-Pb dating.During the Middle Silurian,the geothermic grade was high in the Huaniushan arc,huge area highε_(Nd)(t) calc-alkaline granitiods intruded and extensive high-T metamorphism happened.Therefore,the favorable interpretation is that the Liuyuan adakites was formed by melting of a hot subducting oceanic slab,which could be one of most important crustal growth ways in the Early Paleozoic in the Beishan Mountains.
