Study on the Mechanic Behaviour of Tunnel Invert

Wang Ming-nian;Wong Han-min;Li Zhi-ye(South West Jiaotong University,Chengdu)  
With the large scale model tests and the method of finite elements,this paper studies the mechanical behaviour of tunnel invert.The results shaw that the tunnel invert is very important in increasing the bearing capacity of the tunnel structure, restraining the extension of the plastic zones in the surrounding rocks,restricting the development of the surrounding rock displacement and increasing the safety factor of the tunnel lining.
