Spatial behavior analysis of deep excavation

Yu Jianlin Gong Xiaonan (Department of Civil Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou,310027)  
In this paper, 3 D FEM is used to analyse the spatial distribution of deformation, earth pressure and the size effect of deep excavation, and the results calculated with 3 D FEM and 2 D FEM are compared. Finally, through an excavation case in Hangzhou, the necessity of 3 D analysis and the reasonableness of the calculating model were verified.
