Study on bearing capacity and failure of uplift pile

HE Si-ming (Building Institute of 19MCC Panzhihua 617023 China)  
 On the basis of the field and laboratory tests the failure surface formula of soil surrounding uplift pile was presented and it is found out that all the previous assumptions on variety of failure surface models of uplift pile are only the especial examples of the proposed model. The limiting bearing capacity of the uplift pile was studied and an etremum principle was present- ed.
